"A Personal Note About Accessibility"
If you have any accessibility requirements, please be sure to specify when making your reservation. Contact us if you have questions about individual cabins.
Five Points Lake Hamilton was built in another era - long before the need for accessibility standards was widely recognized. When we restored the original 6 cabins (built in the 1930's and 1940's), it was determined that it was impractical to make any of them fully handicapped accessible (up to ADA standards). They have varying degrees of accessibility. We resolved that when we built additional cabins, we would address this issue.
And that's exactly what we did! From 2007-2012, we added 6 more cabins. Cabin B is fully accessible with a wheelchair ramp. (Note: this cabin does not have a roll-in shower, but does have full grab railings around the tub and toilet, and a chair that fits in the tub). Cabin C, a one story cabin, has a ramped entry. Cabin F is a two-story cabin with first floor accessibility. This cabin has a ramp walkway leading to the large front porch. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor. Historic Five Points maintains its bygone era feeling by keeping the original gravel roads and natural paths. The large deck and gazebo down by the lake does have several levels; however, a good part of the deck is on one level and can be accessed by wheelchair. Our objective is to make the Five Points experience available to as many folks as possible. So, if you do have any questions about specific cabins or any other accessibility issues, please do not hesitate to contact us. Skip & Shay
